Intro to Breathwork for Focus & Relaxation
Our breath shifts not just with the state of our physical body, but also the state of our mind. As we learn to pay attention to the rhythm of our breath, we become more in-tune with our emotions and inner thoughts that quicken the breath and slow it down. Over time, with practice, it is possible to harness the power of breathwork to calm the nervous system, relax the heart, and reduce blood pressure naturally.
This session will introduce you to breathwork, explain how it fits into the ‘8 Limbs of Yoga,’ and introduce you to breath techniques that are considered safe for beginners, so you can feel comfortable practicing on your own.
The breath techniques you’ll learn can help you regulate and manage your energy, steady your mind, and help you manage stress.
